Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.22%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Public Utilities and Consumption sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.22%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3), which rose 5.97% or 0.82 points to trade at 14.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3) added 3.45% or 0.15 points to end at 4.50 and Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3) was up 3.12% or 0.17 points to 5.62 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3), which fell 4.25% or 0.31 points to trade at 6.98 at the close. 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3) declined 3.53% or 0.62 points to end at 16.95 and Vivara Participacoes SA (BVMF:VIVA3) was down 3.15% or 0.85 points to 26.16.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 522 to 424 and 55 ended unchanged.

Shares in Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) fell to all time lows; losing 4.25% or 0.31 to 6.98. Shares in 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3) fell to all time lows; falling 3.53% or 0.62 to 16.95.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 9.00% to 29.34.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.06% or 28.60 to $2,736.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.87% or 1.32 to hit $69.35 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.23% or 0.58 to trade at $255.73 .

USD/BRL was up 0.68% to 5.69, while EUR/BRL rose 1.08% to 6.19.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.29.
